Abstract    
Four new species of the genus Phrynarachne Thorell, 1869 from China are described: P. dreepy Lin & S. Li, sp. nov. (♂♀), P. xuxiake Lin & S. Li, sp. nov. (♀), P. yunhui Lin & S. Li, sp. nov. (♀), and P. zhengzhongi Lin & S. Li, sp. nov. (♀). The unknown sexes of P. brevis Tang & S. Li, 2010 (♂), P. huangshanensis Li et al., 1985 (♀), P. lancea Tang & S. Li, 2010 (♂), and P. mammillata Song, 1990 (♀) are described for the first time. Phrynarachne sinensis Peng, Yin & Kim is treated as a nomen dubium.

[Arachnida • 2024] Talaus yuyang & T. zhangjiangkou • Notes on Species of Talaus Simon, 1886 (Araneae: Thomisidae) from China, with Descriptions of Two New Species

Abstract
Taxonomic notes on the Talaus species from China are provided. Two new species, T. yuyang Yao & Liu, sp. nov. and T. zhangjiangkou Yao & Liu, sp. nov. are described and illustrated, and a further three species are redescribed based on their genitalic characters: T. dulongjiang Tang, Yin, Ubick & Peng, 2008, T. niger Tang, Yin, Ubick & Peng, 2008, and T. sulcus Tang & Li, 2010. The species T. xiphosus Zhu & Ono, 2007 is considered a junior synonym of T. triangulifer Simon, 1886 based on an examination of many recently collected female and male specimens from Guangxi Province, China. Diagnoses, detailed illustrations and a map of distributional records of the six treated species of Talaus in China are provided.

[Arachnida • 2023] Massuria min • Notes on Two Species of Massuria Thorell, 1887 (Araneae: Thomisidae) from China with Description of A New Species

Abstract
Two species assigned to Massuria Thorell, 1887 are reviewed. The female of Massuria bandian Tang & Li, 2010 is described for the first time from Jianfengling National Natural Reserve, Hainan Province, China. The species Diaea simplex Xu, Han & Li, 2008 is described as a synonym of Massuria bellula Xu, Han & Li, 2008 based on female and male specimens from Guangdong Province, China. Massuria min sp. nov. described as a new species (female, Fujian Province, China). Detailed illustrations and a distribution map are provided for these three species of Massuria.

Diagnosis: Massuria min sp. nov. is similar to M. bandian Tang & Li, 2010 (Fig. 1A, C, D) and M. uthoracica Sen, Saha & Raychaudhuri, 2012 (see Sen et al. 2015: 64, figs 334, 337, 338) in having a triangular epigynal plate, but differs from it by the carapace with abundant spots (vs. absent in M. bandian and M. uthoracica), the long W-shaped copulatory ducts combined with a dorsal hood (vs. triangular in M. bandian; absent in M. uthoracica) and the fan-shaped spermathecae (vs. C-shaped in M. bandian; straight in M. uthoracica) (Fig. 5C, D).

Etymology: The specific name refers to the Chinese abbreviation for Fujian Province; noun in apposition.

[Arachnida • 2023] Stiphropus qianlei • Notes on Two Stiphropus Species (Araneae, Thomisidae) from China

Abstract
Background: The spider genus Stiphropus Gerstaecker, 1873 currently includes 21 extant species that are distributed in Africa (12) and Asia (9). Four species, S. falciformus Yang, Zhu & Song, 2006, S. myrmecophilus Huang & Lin, 2020, S. ocellatus Thorell, 1887 and S. soureni Sen, 1964, are currently known from China.

New information: The mismatched female of S. falciformus is reported as a new species: S. qianlei sp. n. (♂♀). The unknown male of S. soureni Sen, 1964 is described for the first time. Photos and morphological descriptions are provided.

Diagnosis: The male is similar to S. ocellatus Thorell, 1887 by the curved and wide embolus and long, terminal sharp dorsal tibial apophysis (see Ono 1980, figs. 22–27). However, the new species can be distinguished from S. ocellatus by the embolus strongly curved as C-shaped and widest at the middle [vs. no significant change in the width of the embolus in S. ocellatus (Ono 1980, figs. 22 and 25) and dorsal tibial apophysis pointed dorsally [vs. point anteriorly in S. ocellatus (Ono 1980, figs, 23, 24, 26 and 27). For diagnosis of females, see Li et al. (2010).

Etymology: The species is named after one of the collectors.

[Arachnida • 2022] Lysiteles nanfengmian • A New Species of Lysiteles Simon, 1895 (Araneae: Thomisidae) from South China

Abstract
Background: 
Lysiteles Simon, 1895 is one of the largest taxa with small body size among the Thomisidae and is mainly distributed in East, South and Southeast Asia. Most of them are recorded from southern provinces of China, such as Jiangxi Province, including three species. However, all of them are only discovered from Jinggang Mountain National Nature Reserve in Jiangxi Province. But there are still other species remaining unknown which need to be surveyed from other areas in this Province.

New information: 
One Lysiteles species was collected from Nanfengmian National Nature Reserve in Jiangxi Province. Based on morphological characters, it was recognised as a new species and has been named as Lysiteles nanfengmian sp. n. It is described and illustrated with photographs and its distribution is also mapped.

[Arachnida • 2022] Ibana gan • The First Record of the Thomisid Genus Ibana Benjamin, 2014 (Araneae: Thomisidae) from China, with the Description of A New Species

Abstract
Background
The genus Ibana Benjamin, 2014 was established, based on the type species Ibana senagang Benjamin, 2014 from Borneo, Malaysia. No species of this genus has been recorded from China.

New information
A new species of Ibana is described and illustrated, representing the first record of the genus for China. Ibana gan sp. n. differs from its congener by the yellowishbrown longitudinal band on the abdomen and the round, contiguous spermathecae. The distribution of the new species in Jiangxi Province is mapped.

Ibana gan Liu & Li, sp. n.

Diagnosis: The new species can be distinguished from Ibana senagang Benjamin, 2014 (Benjamin 2014: 181, figs. 1G, 3A–C) by the transverse ridge of copulatory openings present (vs. absent), the copulatory ducts extending from anterolateral to posteromedial part of epigyne (vs. from medial to anteromedial) and the oval, contiguous spermathecae (vs. close touching) (Figs 2, 3).

Etymology: The specific name refers to the Chinese abbreviation for Jiangxi Province; noun in apposition.

Distribution: Known only from the type locality in Jiangxi Province, China
