Abstract
In this synopsis of the genus Lepidagathis for the Flora of Thailand, nine species are recognized. This includes Lepidagathis argentea, a new species collected from limestone bedrock in Tak Province, and three species newly recorded for Thailand, L. dulcis, L. purpuricaulis and L. thorelii. Lepidagathis chiengmaiensis and L. thyrsiflora, are reduced to synonyms of L. incurva and L. fasciculata, respectively. The following names have been lectotypified: Lepidagathis chiengmaiensis, L. chlorostachya, L. dissimilis, L. dulcis, L. falcata and L. thorelii. A genus description with key to species, nomenclatural notes, distributional data and specimens examined are provided.

[Botany • 2019] Polyalthia khaoyaiensis (Annonaceae) • A New Species from Thailand

Polyalthia khaoyaiensis  P. Bunchalee & Chantar.,

in Bunchalee, Chantaranothai, Johnson et Murray, 2019.

Abstract
A new species, Polyalthia khaoyaiensis, is proposed based on materials from central Thailand. The species appears most similar to Polyalthia meghalayensis and Polyalthia evecta, differing from these taxa in having shorter pedicels and usually two (rather than one) ovules per carpel. From P. meghalayensis it differs further in absence of a claw from the inner petals. The new species is described and illustrated. The conservation status of the species is considered and it is given an assessment of Least Concern (LC), as it is locally common in the hill evergreen forest of Khao Yai National Park.

Abstract
A new species, Microcos bifurcata, is illustrated and described here. The species is recognized by having a bifid leaf apex which sharply caudate, 3–4 lateral veins per side, the proximal lateral vein appeared slightly below the midpoint of the leaf length and the distal lateral vein on the top is an opposite pair. The morphological characteristics of the new species are compared and discussed with its similar species. The vernacular name, provisional national IUCN conservation assessment and a distribution map of the new species are provided.

Abstract
During preparation of a revision of the genus Eranthemum (Acanthaceae), it became evident that nine specimens from eastern and south-eastern floristic regions of Thailand and southern Laos represent a new species which is herein described, illustrated and given the name Eranthemum decumbens. The new species has affinities to E. strictum and E. roseum. Abstract
We update the descriptions of seventeen native species of Peperomia in Thailand, including a new species, P. ranongensis, and a detailed morphological description for the uncommon species P. kotana based on Thai specimens. We provide a generic description, a key to all the species and provide lectotypifications for P. bavina, P. heyneana, P. laticaulis, P. nakaharae and P. reflexa var. parvifolia. Five species, P. heptaphylla, P. masuthoniana, P. multisurcula, P. ranongensis and P. sirindhorniana, are endemic to Thailand. Peperomia pellucida is a common pantropical species. Eight species, namely P. cavaleriei, P. dindygulensis, P. heyneana, P. laevifolia, P. masuthoniana, P. moulmeiniana, P. multisurcula and P. sirindhorniana have a high potential for development as ornamental plants.

Pavetta L. (Rubiaceae-Pavetteae) is one of the large genera of the Rubiaceae, comprising ca 400 species with a pantropical distribution, which occur in Africa, through India, SE Asia and Australia. (Mabberley, 2008). The name Pavettais derived from ‘pawatta’ a Singhalese and Malayalee plant name (Wong, 1989). Most species are widespread along the margins of deciduous, mixed deciduous, dry evergreen and evergreen forests. The dark bacterial nodules on the leaves are the most distinguished characters of the genus. The plants in the Rubiaceae are familiar through cultivated ornamentals as Gardenia J.Ellis, Ixora L., Mussaenda Burm. ex L., Pentas Benth. and Tarenna Gaertn. but not Pavetta. ...

Abstract
Argostemma Wall. is a large genus of herbaceous plants in the tribe Argostemmateae (Rubiaceae–Rubioideae), mainly distributed in Southeast Asia and its taxonomy is far from completely known. Eight species of Argostemma were previously reported from Laos, but we here add six more species (Argostemma lamxayanum, A. lobbioides, A. longisepalum, A. paksongense, A. svengsuksae and A. vientianense) which are all new to science. The new species were found in limestone habitats in southern and central Laos. Detailed descriptions, illustrations, photographs and a key to all the known species in Laos are provided.

Etymology: The specific epithet is to honor Associate Prof. Vichith Lamxay, Dept of Biology, Faculty of Natural Science, National Univ. of Laos, who encouraged the first author to intensively study the Lao Flora.

Argostemma lobbioides Lanors., Chantar. & Souvann., sp. nov.

Etymology: The specific epithet lobbioides refers to its morphological similarity to A. lobbii.

Argostemma longisepalum Lanors. & Chantar., sp. nov.

Argostemma paksongense Lanors. & Chantar., sp. nov.

Etymology: The specific epithet refers to the Paksong district where the species grows.

Argostemma svengsuksae Lanors., Chantar. & Souvann., sp. nov.

Etymology: The taxon is named after emeritus Associate Prof. Bouakhaykhone Svengsuksa, Dept of Biology, Faculty of Natural Science, National Univ. of Laos, who directed the first author to study the flowering plants for the Lao Flora.
