Boesenbergia isanensis Saensouk & P. Saensouk, sp. nov. (Zingiberaceae) is described from northeastern Thailand. Description, photograph, illustration, vernacular name, distribution, ecology, uses and phenology of this species are provided.

กระชายอีสาน (Boesenbergia isanensis Saensouk & P. Saensouk) พืชถิ่นเดียวของไทย ในสกุลกระชาย (Boesenbergia)
ลักษณะเด่น คือ เหง้ายาวกว่ากระชายทั่วไป เนื้อเหง้ามีสีเหลืองเข้ม รากสะสมอาหารไม่เกิดเป็นกระจุกเหมือนกระชายทั่วไป แผ่นใบมีแถบสีแดงเลือดหมู ดอกมีสีครีมและกลีบปากสีแดงอ่อน
ตั้งชื่อเพื่อเป็นเกียรติแก่ภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือหรือ “ภาคอีสาน” เนื่องจากพบครั้งแรกในภาคอีสานและปัจจุบันพบว่าพืชชนิดนี้มีการกระจายพันธุ์ในภาคอีสานเท่านั้น
