Summary
Typhonium hangiae (Araceae) a new species from Central Vietnam is described and illustrated. The taxonomic treatment includes a description, photographs, geographic distribution, ecology, conservation assessment and morphological comparison of the new species with the allied species T. thatsonense. A revised identification key to all known species of the genus Typhonium in Vietnam is included.

ETYMOLOGY. The specific epithet is derived from the name of Mrs Nguyen Thi Hang, who collected the type specimen of this new species during our floristic expedition for a wild plant investigation project in Quang Nam Province. Mrs Hang is also the manager of this project.
